Welcome to the batwa Community Walk
We are glad that you have come to Uganda and indeed made your African dream come true. We thank you for making Ruhija Community cultural walk with Batwa to be the best choice for the local community experience while in Uganda. Ruhija community cultural walk with Batwa was engineered by two visionaries who were keen on improving the welfare of their community. These include ASIIMWE PAUSION and AMPAIRE RUTH
Later the community people around Bwindi Ruhija decided to embrace it as a project with the aim of developing the lives of vulnerable children like double orphans and pygmies.
The project aims at rendering services to tourists, both local and international. These services include Show casing local cultures, Music dance and drama entertainment, Creating relationship with visitors from in and outside the country like donors, sponsors and well-wishers and Cultural and Community walks
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a great experience. It gives you the opportunity to have a close encounter with these gentle giants of the jung.
Bird enthusiasts will see and experience different bird behaviors depending on the time of year and habitat. Bwindi is home to Dwarf Hon..,
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is not only a great destination for gorilla trekking, it is a wonderful place for hiking. Hiking trails are in the park..
With this community walk you will be able to learn more about Batwa History, way of life, traditions and many more interesting discoveries..
The community is blessed with a study center which is partially sponsored by a group of well wishers. And supported by the community. This has given hope to the parents and elders as the project is to produce children who will later give back to their community in any form of developmental initiative!
During the 1990’s parks were created and the Batwa people were evicted from places such as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Park. They were a people without land, losing their cultural values.
